Is your Advertising Short-Sighted?
Successful advertisers never need glasses to see the big picture. It’s because a trained eye can ALWAYS see the forest from the trees.
Did you ever catch yourself wondering how service dogs manage to safely navigate their owners through traffic and crowded city streets?
Now consider why some people seem to magically walk their dogs without a leash while some people’s dogs seemingly walk THEM?
The Trained Eye
The short answer is psychology. Some people understand how to elicit desired behavior from another and some people just don’t.
The goal of a psychologist or advertiser is to describe, explain, predict and ultimately control the behavior of a person.
Teaching old customers new tricks
Eliciting a desired behavior from your marketing and advertising campaign is achieved through the very same principles that elicit desired behavior from a dog. The age or demographic your target market is of little consequence. Anyone can be "motivated" to pick up a telephone and contact your business instead of another.
Go fetch
WIth proper guidance, we can all learn to get our pets to properly behave, walk on a leash or catch a ball. Likewise, getting prospective customers to to pick up a phone and call your business versus another isn't rocket science either. While the competition makes their customers jump through hoops and fetch their various types of "mail"... you'll just answer the phone.
